Our hard waxes can break during the removal process if applied incorrectly. Typically, this is caused by two factors. Either the esthetician is applying the wax in layers too thin or the wax was left on the skin for too long. To avoid complications while using our waxing supplies, we recommend applying a thick layer of wax to the skin. To get a groove of the consistency of our wax create a lip for grip to remove the wax at the end of the strip. The density of the wax will determine the feasibility of the removal. Please note, the wax should not sit on the skin for more than 45 seconds. If your wax is still wet after 45 seconds, please allow an additional 30 seconds until the wax has dried.
Understanding proper waxing technique and mastering the process is very important. Fundamental mistakes during the melting, application and removal process of the wax can cause many problems including hairs being left behind. To avoid hairs being left behind, it is critical that during the waxing process you ensure that the temperature on your warmer is at the highest setting until the wax has reached a point of low viscosity. Once the wax has melted and reached a point of low viscosity you must then lower the warmer and set the temperature to a low – mid level setting. Proceed to wait 20 minutes until the wax has reached a higher viscosity point or a syrup-like consistency. Once the wax has reached a higher viscosity point, we recommend applying a thick layer of wax to the skin. To get a groove of the consistency of our wax create a lip for grip to remove the wax at the end of the strip. The density of the wax will determine the feasibility of the removal. The wax should rest no more than 45 seconds on the skin. If your wax is still wet after 45 seconds, please allow an additional 30 seconds until the wax has dried.
Mastering the waxing process is very important. Utilizing the wrong temperature setting with our waxing supplies throughout the melting process can lead to fundamental mistakes. Typically, if you’ve allowed the wax to rest and the consistency is too flexible the wax temperature is too cold. We recommend turning up the temperature notch on your warming unit until the wax has reached a syrup-like consistency.
This answer will vary depending on which of our waxing supplies you’re using. The soft waxes will reach a melting point much faster than the hard waxes. If you’re using one of our professional salons’ warmers, we recommend letting your soft wax to sit in the highest temperature for 15-20 minutes. For our hard waxes we recommend letting the wax sit at the highest temperature for 20-30 minutes. Once your wax has reached a low viscosity point you must then lower your warmers temperature to a low mid-level setting. Please proceed to wait an additional 15-20 minutes until your wax has reached a syrup-like consistency.
It is not recommended to use a microwave or stove. In fact, doing so can be very hazardous. Every microwave has different wattages and using a microwave to melt our waxing supplies can lead to severe burns in your skin. Also, using a stove will cause your wax to overheat. We ONLY recommend using a professional salon wax warmer.
Due to the different ingredients which compose our waxes, mixing different formulas can change the performance, consistency and melting point of the product. Therefore, although doable, we don’t recommend our users to mix any of our waxing supplies.
For future reference, it is important that you avoid melting the wax directly in the warming unit. We recommend using a wax tin for your warming unit. If you’ve already committed the mistake, we recommend setting the warmer to the highest temperature possible. Upon the wax residue reaching a low viscosity point use the backside of a sponge to scrape off as much wax as possible. Then proceed to use a cleaning product such as “Goo Gone” to remove any stubborn residue remaining within your warmer.
